When you sign up for the Under the Arch Plain Air Event you get the chance to place your completed paintings in the Event Gallery, located at the Fortress Louisbourg Visitor Centre.

Throughout the two day event, the artists will be sending their completed Plein Air works back to the Event Gallery.
The under the Arch Event Gallery, located at the Fortress Louisbourg Visitor Centre, will be open between the hours of 9:00am and 4:30pm (no Park entrance needed) and set up as a silent auction, with a take [...]

Each day of the Under the Arch Plein Air Event, bidders will vote on the piece they believe to be the Best in Show. The artist which receives the most votes each day will be awarded a piece of  Jingdezhen Porcelain. The story of the Jingdezhen Porcelain holds great ties to both the Fortress and [...]

All sales made in the Under the Arch Event Gallery will be divided between the artist and the event; 60% to the artist and 40% to the event organizers to be put back into next year’s event.

Included in the weekend registration price is the Beggar’s Banquet. The artists will dawn period fortress attire and join the crew at Point of View Suites for an 18th century Seafood Feast of lobster, haddock or chicken (for those who wish).

We know you will be busy the days of the event and may not even think to stop and eat. For this reason, we will be providing every artist with box lunches each day.

Every artist will receive an Under the Arch t-shirt to wear the days of the event. These shirts will serve to identify the artists for visitors and also keep the artists visible and safe while painting along or near the streets of Louisbourg.
