And that’s a wrap
The 2010 Under the Arch event has come to a close and I would consider it a success. A quick rundown on the weekend:
23 artists
92 pieces created
46 pieces sold
Over $2000 in sales with over $1200 going to the artists and $800 in commission going into next years event.
Still rolling in
The registrants are still rolling in. We have had 3 people sign up.
The weather has been nice and should hold for the rest of the month.
Hope to see everyone at the Under the Arch Plein Air Event in Louisbourg Nova Scotia.
Seaside comes on board with exciting offerings
Just had a meeting with Seaside Communications and they have agreed to come on as a sponsor. They will be hosting an interview session on their community and will be out the two days of the event with the cruiser and cameras.
We gain another artist
Yet another artist has signed up for the Under the Arch Plain Air Event, two day open air paint out. I hope they enjoy the artists’ event and two days of wonderful plein air painting on Nova Scotia’s East Coast.

Site launched
The Under the Arch site has been up and running for the past week or so and has been generating some interest. We have had some artists contact us to find out more and others state they will definitely be there. Great to see the art community come together to back such an event.
Out of the gate
We have finalized the budget and got together the first draft of the event proposal for funding. We have a meeting January 11 with the local funding agency to try and get some funding help but will continue on with the event either way.
